SPORT ... English Premier League

London is also a favourite destination for football fans with 5 or 6 London teams regularly competing in the Premier League and several other teams playing in the lower divisions... every Saturday and Sunday during the season you can watch a match, be it in Arsenal's avant-garde Emirates Stadium, the  Olympic Stadium , new home of West Ham  or trendy Stamford Bridge where Chelsea play home matches in west London.
The national stadium at  Wembley is another example of modern art. Most of the stadiums can be visited so click on the site of the club for more information.

Arsenal news:

Arsenal once again will be hoping to go one better and return to the pinnacle of the Premier League after a disappointing 5th place in 2016/17 .. but they seem destined to remain among the also-rans, seeing the spending power of their major rivals and we do not expect them to improve on this position ..

Next match:

Rugby

Twickenham in west London is  the home of English rugby and rugby fans can also see a club match at the stadiums of  Harlequins, Wasps and other big teams at club level during the winter season.

In June London hosts one of the great tournaments of world tennis, the Wimbledon championships in south-west London,  when the great names of world tennis converge on the capital.

During the summer the more curious might like to try to understand the rules of cricket – the professionals play at Lords in north London or at the 'Oval in the south or alternatively pass a Sunday afternoon watching a local match in one of London's parks ...
