Little Venice and Regent's Canal

A short stroll from Warwick Avenue leads you to the charming waterway and the long, narrow houseboats...

... that are home for some people. These two houseboats evoke contrasting images of a Bogart film...

... and, to me anyway, of the ex-mayor of London and now Brexiteer/foreign secretary...

From the Little Venice 'lagoon'...

... the canal splits, leading to the modern area of Paddington Basin...

... going straight on while to the left it passes through exclusive Maida Vale, near Lords cricket ground to Regent's Park, though these residents...

... clearly prefer the park to the waterway...

All good things come to an end however and the peace is shattered when the canal winds round to throbbing Camden which could hardly be more different from our departure point in Little Venice...
