St Katharine Docks

Just beyond Tower Bridge on the north side of the river, passing through the underpass and oblivious to what lay ahead, the thriving new development of St. Katherine Docks suddenly appeared when least expected...

Dating from 1828 when the docks handled luxury goods the area was bombed in WWII. Redevelopment was completed in the 1990s creating luxury homes, a yachting marina and a haven of bars and eateries ...

... where visitors can relax in this lesser known but still most appealing of areas and where the well-healed park up their luxury craft...

A walk around the marina may evoke memories of London dockland of the past but the restaurant chains ensure visitors are aware they are in the 21st century... though the Dickens Inn...

... does have an Alpine (or is it Medieval England??) feel to it...
